About me
Hello, I'm James. I've lived many lives before becoming a coach: finance and executive roles, biotech co-founder, writing scripts and business plans, while navigating feast-and-famine years. These twists taught me that purpose isn’t something you stumble upon—it’s something you uncover through honest reflection and practical steps.
I’ve always been a natural empath. My intuition sharpened after corrective surgery for long-standing hearing difficulties, suddenly flooding me with sounds and subtleties I’d never noticed. In a tough school that soon curbed my inner smart-arse, reading moods, nuance, and unspoken truths became a survival skill — and later, a gift for truly hearing people.
Many friends and colleagues have asked me for my advice in tackling life’s thornier dilemmas, which has often yielded life-enhancing outcomes. That ‘party trick’ led me to formal training: I qualified as an NLP Practitioner with Richard Bandler (co-founder of Neuro Linguistic Programming psychotherapy) and as a professional coach through Henley Business School, so I could offer structured, ethical support. I also hold a postgraduate qualification in Psychology from the University of Oxford.
If any of this resonates, or you'd like some pointers on your own journey, I’d be glad to talk
